It’s so easy to drive here… almost home. Just a few cars on the same road and cheap diesel and coffee! Eva is driving, and I’m writing.
If someone had asked me this morning how I slept, I would have confidently said: badly. The strangest dreams woke me up. I was awake at three, ready to leave for the port. Luckily, I managed to fall asleep again for a bit. Still, I’m tired. And my throat is a bit sore. I tried to sauna myself into shape on the ferry. There was a travel sauna that was always warm. The first thing we did with Eva was go to (different) saunas. I took a longer session with a beer. Eva went for a shorter one without beer. We dined on the ferry in a newly opened bistro. We were their first customers. The food was quite good and not bad priced either. And the staff understood English and Swedish!
After a rather long lunch, I went to the sauna again. It felt like I needed it. The scenery during the trip didn’t change much: the fairly flat Baltic Sea and a cloudless sky. We’ve seen such before! As we approached the port, I agreed with Eva that this was the time for our wine and cider shopping. The white wine was reasonably priced. I had also left my cognac purchase until now, so we had quite the load, just like Tallinn tourists. Luckily, there’s plenty of space in the car to store provisions!
We left the ferry and drove towards Stockholm without looking for a place to sleep. We’ll drive as far as we can, and then go to sleep. In a couple of days, we’ll already be in Finland!
