Jönköping – Stockholm

June 26th

So, we’ve driven through southern Sweden now. We marveled at the ruins of Per Brahe’s house on the shores of Lake Vättern … and took advantage of the tourist spot’s sanitary facilities there. A Finnish city is named after Per Brahe’s wife! So, which city is it? Think about that!

In the morning, both of us had sore throats. We slept quite poorly … or rather, we had 3 hours of sleep and spent the rest of the time dozing until eight in the morning … We were between two roads, and the traffic noise was a bit too much … After getting up, we immediately went to find a shaded spot to have breakfast. That’s when we happened upon Per Brahe’s house. From there, we headed off to Stockholm to find Eva’s goddaughter Silja and her husband Mattias. With Silja, we had Skagen sandwiches and enjoyed a beer or two from the local brewery in Nacka!

Eva went swimming with Silja. We chatted with the young couple into the evening. We bid them farewell and wished them a good trip to Lisbon. We were there in April!

We left the young couple to prepare for their trip and went off to find a somewhat quieter place to stay than we had last night! We found just the place – we are the only ones here somewhere north of Stockholm! Hopefully, we’ll be able to get some sleep here. Let’s live in hope. Good night!
